March of Dimes walk for babies
As many of you know our son, Ian Michael, was born prematurely at 32 weeks. Due to IUGR he never developed past 26 weeks and weighed a mere 1 pound 12.4 ounces at birth. He was 1 inch longer than a Barbie doll and yet was beating the odds from the moment he was born. He never needed to be on a CPAP, respirator or any external oxygen source. We were very, very blessed. He came home to us 5.5 weeks later weighing 4 lbs.
Ian is now a healthy and happy 6 year old thriving in Kindergarten with kids his own age. You'd never know the struggles he went through by looking at him.
We ask for you to help support us in our walk and the March of Dimes so that all premature babies will have the chance at the blessed outcome Ian had. They all deserve the chance to thrive.
The money we raise for March for Babies will help:
...support all-important research offering preventions and solutions for babies born too soon or with birth defects
...educate women on things they can do to increase their chances of having a healthy baby
...provide comfort and information to families with a newborn in intensive care
...push for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children.
